Police officers are supposed to take some verbal abuse as part of their job because a lot of what you say to police officers such as cursing them out or yelling at the police officer is considered freedom of speech.

You cannot be arrested simply for disrespecting a police officer or cussing the police officer out.

Although some police officers may try to pin another charge on you such as disorderly conduct but either way it will be a misdemeanor.

I've seen several videos on Youtube where people have disrespected police officers and cussed the police officers out without getting arrested.

I've seen a few get arrested for disrespecting the police officer then the police had to cut them loose on the spot because they couldn't actually charge the person for anything after disrespecting the police officer.
