All purpose flour and self rising flour are different and not the same so if your recipe calls for self rising flour then you need to use self rising flour.

If your recipe calls for all purpose flour then you should use all purpose flour.

If you do not have any self rising flour then you can use all purpose flour to make your own self rising flour by mixing together 1 cup of all purpose flour with with 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder and one scant 1/2 teaspoon of table salt.

Then just whisk those ingredients together and you'll have your own self rising flour and the recipe will turn out just fine.

Or you can just go to the store and buy some already made self rising flour to make your recipe turn out properly.

If you use the wrong flour in your recipe then the baked goods will turn out wrong so always use the correct flour.
