If the glass dish is just refrigerator cold then it would be okay to place the glass dish in the microwave directly from the refrigerator.

However when you have the glass dish in the freezer cold then you should place it at room temperature for around 20 to 30 minutes before putting it in the microwave to prevent breakage.

But if the glass dish is just cold it can safely be put directly into the microwave without it breaking as long as the glass dish is microwave safe.

However be aware that some glass dishes that are not completely microwave safe may actually break as a result of being put directly into the microwave from coming out of the cold.

So if your glass dish is not exactly microwave safe then let the glass dish sit out at room temperature for 20 to 30 minutes to warm the glass dish up enough to prevent breaking it.

Even if I had a microwave safe dish I would always just wait at least 10 to 20 minutes for the glass dish to warm up some to prevent the possibility of breaking it in the microwave.
