For imaging/scan reports, these can be on your patient portal on the same day as soon as the radiologist signs off.
For visit summary and doctors notes, these often show up on your patient portal in your medical records within 24 hours to 72 hours while the provider completes documentation.
And for pathology/specialty tests these often show up on your patient portal within 3 days to 5 days, as these often also have a temporary automatic hold.
Although there can be some delays like the doctor has not yet finished or signed the official visit note.
Weekends or holidays can slow down manual chart finalization by staff.
And certain sensitive or specialized tests carry a brief system delay.
For myself I often notice that my medical records will show up on my patient portal by the time I get home from the doctor, which is often around 30 minutes to an hour.
However it's normal for your medical records to take a bit longer as well.
It could take a few days in some cases or even a week for your medical records to be finalized and uploaded to the portal.
