Raw ground beef can keep in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days before it goes bad.
If you want to keep the ground beef longer than 4 days you can and should freeze the ground beef to keep it longer than 4 days.
The ground beef when frozen will keep for up to 6 months to even a year but will not be as fresh if kept longer than 6 months in the freezer.
But as long as you cook the ground beef within 4 days the ground beef will be okay left in the refrigerator but when ground beef is frozen the bacteria that causes the ground beef to go bad will not be able to grow in the freezing cold temperatures.
