If you're cooking bacon in a frying pan on the stove you should cook the bacon using low heat and cook the bacon slow instead of fast.
Cooking the bacon slow makes the bacon cook better and more evenly and makes the bacon taste better and not shrink as much.
If you cook the bacon too fast it can shrink down to almost nothing and most of the fat will be gone and the bacon won't be as good.
I actually rather cook bacon in the oven for 16 minutes at 350 F.
The bacon cooks much better in the oven and doesn't shrink down to nothing like it does when cooking the bacon in the frying pan.
Baked Bacon also requires less watching over and in my opinion is better to eat.
