Once thawed out a raw turkey can be kept inside the refrigerator for up to 3 days before it goes bad.
If you're not gonna cook the turkey within 3 days of buying it then you should freeze the turkey instead of just refrigerating the turkey.
When you freeze the turkey the frozen turkey will last from 6 months to a year before it goes bad or starts to get not so fresh.
I've kept raw turkeys in the freezer for 2 years before and although the turkey wasn't as fresh as before it was still safe to eat.
I like to sometimes buy a few extra turkeys when they're on sale and then freeze them for use later in soups and stews.
So as long as you keep the turkey frozen it will last for 2 years and possibly longer but it won't be as fresh.
But in the refrigerator the raw turkey will only last for up to 3 days.
