How do you remove a hock lock from a turkey?

If you want to remove the hock lock from the turkey prior to cooking it you can take a pair of wire cutters and cut the hock lock off the turkey.

Sometimes you can use a pair of pliers to twist the hock lock tie around and it sometimes will break loose off the turkey but it's safe to cook the turkey with it on it.

If the hock lock is plastic then using a pair of pliers or wire cutters or a small hack saw can cut the hock lock off the turkey.

So if you don't have a pair of wire cutters to cut the hock lock you can use a hack saw if you have one or a pair of pliers to remove the hock lock.
