Cooking rice on the stove takes me 15 minutes.
Add the rice halfway to the pot and then fill the pot with water to cover the rice and then turn the stove on high to let the water come to a boil and then once the water comes to a boil you can then turn the stove heat down to allow the rice to simmer for the 15 minutes.
If the rice isn't fully cooked it won't be soft so cook the rice until it's soft and the water has been absorbed.
The rice is done enough for me at 15 minutes of cooking but if you want to cook it a bit longer and the water is absorbed just add a bit more water and let it cook a few more minutes until done enough for you.
Cooking rice in the microwave also takes 15 to 16 minutes.
