An electric kettle does use a lot of electricity to heat up and boil the water inside the kettle.

Most electric kettles including my electric kettle uses 1,200 watts of electricity which costs around 11 cents per hour to use the electric kettle.

But at most you're not even using the electric kettle for an hour per day but instead you're maybe using the electric kettle for 10 to 15 minutes at a time per day.

So you're likely to not even use 10 cents per day with the electric kettle if you use the electric kettle per day.

I really don't notice much of an increase on my electric bill when using my electric kettle and I use it twice per day for making tea.

So while the electric kettle uses a lot of electricity it's unlikely to raise your electric bill by maybe $1.00 to $3.00 per month at most.
