Overclocking the computer every once in awhile shouldn't do much harm to the computer.

But when you do overclock the computer the processor does get much hotter than it normally should and the fan on the processor or CPU may not be able to properly cool the processor or CPU off which can lead to damage especially if you overclock the computer too much.

Overclocking a computer has both advantages and disadvantages and I would not recommend overclocking a computer unless you need too.

Overclocking a computer does shorten the lifespan of the computer overall so if you have an expensive computer it may not last as long as it would have if you didn't overclock it.
