Slow Cookers are very energy efficient and use very little electricity to slow cook the food.

My slow cooker uses 180 watts on the low setting and 250 watts on the high setting.

I cook with my slow cooker nearly everyday and it doesn't seem to affect my electric bill much although I would say I use maybe $10.00 worth or electricity per month cooking with the slow cooker which is pretty cheap.

Using an oven or electric stoves uses more electricity for the same amount of time.
