How often do you replace your desktop computer with a new one or how often do you replace your computer any computer?

Do you replace as soon as there's a new operating system or do you wait until your current computer dies before getting a new one?

I use mine until they quit and then purchase a new one.

I usually get a new computer when a new operating system comes out. But if my computer is still working I usually hang onto it until completely dies.

I still have a windows xp desktop computer that I use occasionally. It's slowing down a bit but still works okay for what I use it for.

Most people replace there computers every 3-4 years.

I still use my windows xp computer that I bought new at walmart in 2008. So it's getting near 10 years old. It's slowing down a bit but it still powers on and works fine for what I need it for.

I did have a laptop my dad bought for my birthday 3 years ago but it died last winter. So I'm back to using my windows xp computer until I get enough money to purchase a new desktop computer and laptop.

I hope this windows xp 9 year old computer still works for at least a few more years.
