A banana does not have 50% of human DNA, although 50% of our human genes do have homologs in bananas.

Us humans do share around 40% to 60% of our genes with bananas, but not total DNA.

This similarity of bananas and humans genes exist because many of these genes are housekeeping genes for basic cellular functions like cell cycle control, protein synthesis and DNA replication and are shared across most other life forms.

It also highlights a common ancient ancestor instead of direct similarity.

Although roughly 50 percent of our human protein coding genes have counterparts in bananas, this however only accounts for a small percentages of the total, which is vastly different DNA sequence and humans are also far more similar to other organisms, like mice which is 80 percent and chimpanzees which is 96 percent to 98 percent and this similarity comes from fundamental biochemical processes which are essential for all life and not that were are partially bananas.

The country that eats the most bananas is Uganda, followed by the USA.

The USA is who buys and imports the most bananas, but Uganda is the country that has the highest per capita consumption of bananas in the world.

Uganda consumes around 200 kg of bananas per person annually, which is largely a result of the staple diet of matooke.

Rwanda and Papua New Guinea is also high in consumption of bananas and India is the largest produce of bananas.

The United States is the buyer of most bananas and is the world's largest importer of bananas as the United States buys around 20 percent of the global supply of bananas, which is over $3 billion dollars worth of bananas.

Other major buyers of bananas are the Netherlands, Japan, China and Germany.

The country that has the best bananas is Indonesia.

The best banana in Indonesia is the Pisang Raja banana, which is known for it's rich, honey like taste as well as creamy texture.

Other best bananas are the sweet Pisang Mas or lady finger banana and the Canary Islands (Spain) for their sweet Platano de Canaris banana.

The reason why the US can't produce bananas on a large scale is because of the climate in America is not really suitable for growing bananas

And even the warmest United States, States have cooler winter seasons which slow or stop the plant growth of bananas.

So the United States can and does produce some bananas, but not on a scale that is large enough to meet the national demand of bananas.

Americans eat around 26 pounds of bananas per person per year.

And over 99 percent of the supply of bananas are also imported from tropical
