The reason why you should avoid Doritos is because they are ultra processed and contain many chemicals as well as artificial colors like Red 40, yellow 5, yellow 6 and MSG as well as flavor enhancers that are not good for health, especially when consumed in excess.

Doritos are also made with blends of corn, canola, and sunflower oils, which can also promote inflammation, acne and bloating.

Doritos are also high in sodium and sugar and excessive slat intake contributes to high blood pressure, and added sugars add empty calories.

The combination of flavors, fats and MSG can also activate pleasure centers in your brain, which makes Doritos addictive and hard to stop eating.

Regular and excessive consumption of Doritos is also linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease and other chronic conditions.

Doritos also have poor nutritional value and offer littler nutritional benefit, or vitamins, minerals and fiber when compared to other healthy and whole foods.

Doritos are okay to eat in moderation, as long as you're eating other healthy foods.

There are also some healthier chip alternatives like chips made with avocado oil or healthier oils and choose brands of chips with less additives and more recognizable ingredients and opt for whole food snacks like fruits, nuts or homemade options or plain potato chips.

Even then all chips can be unhealthy when consumed in excess, but eating chips and unhealthy snacks in moderation is okay as long as you continue to eat a healthy balanced diet throughout the day.
