Avocados don't need to be organic although organic avocados can be a bit healthier due to the lack of pesticides

Although avocados do have a thick and protective skin, which shields the avocados from the pesticides and other chemicals that are used in growing them.

Avocados are actually one of the Clean 15 fruits and vegetables which have the lowest levels of pesticides.

Non organic avocados are safe to consume although you might want to wash them with some baking soda before eating them but it's not always necessary.

If you cannot afford the organic avocados the regular avocados are just fine to eat.

Avocados are not on the Dirty Dozen list either as they are part of the Clean Fifteen List, which means that they have low pesticide residues.

The Dirty Dozen list contains fruits and vegetables that have the highest pesticide levels.

Examples of dirty dozen fruits and vegetables are Grapes, Cherries, Apples, Peaches, Kale, Spinach and Strawberries.

Examples of the clean fifteen vegetables and fruits are Papaya, Onions, Pineapple, Sweet Corn and of course Avocados.
