Doctors don't like being recorded for reasons such as being concerned about any legal liability, the potential for the recordings being used out of context and also for patient confidentiality.
Doctors also can feel that the recordings of them can disrupt their doctor and patient relationship and also inhibit any open communication.
Most doctors fear that recordings of them can be used against them in legal proceedings, and most particularly in malpractice cases.
Doctors also worry about any snippets of conversations may be taken out of context and can be interpreted as evidence of any negligence.
And some doctors also don't like being recorded because they worry about the potential for HIPAA violations if the recordings are not properly secured or if the recordings are shared inappropriately.
Doctors are also obligated to protect patient information, and recordings can inadvertently reveal any sensitive details about other patients or the doctor's own medical history.
And secret recordings of doctors can also damage the trust between the patient and doctor, which is also a fundamental aspect of the therapeutic relationship.
However I've had no issues in recording my babies doctors visits and even the doctors visits when they were 1 and 2 and 3 years old and up.
I asked the doctor first if they were comfortable with me filming in their office and they said yes and they had no issue also being in the film such as when giving my kids and babies their' vaccines, drawing blood, weighing them etc.
