Soaking peeled potatoes in water overnight before cooking them removes the starch from the potatoes.

If you have health problems and need to avoid starch then it's a good idea to soak the peeled potatoes in water overnight to get rid of the starch.

Soaking Peeled potatoes in water overnight is also done to keep fries from sticking together as well.

You don't have to soak potatoes overnight before cooking though if you don't want too.

I just slice the potatoes and cook them right away even without peeling the potatoes.

Soaking Potatoes in water before you cook them helps to remove the starch in the potatoes and only has to be done if you want too.

But by soaking the potatoes overnight you may also remove some of the nutrients that are good for you.

But you need to avoid starch or someone else in your family needs to avoid starch then it's best to soak the potatoes in water before you cook them.

If you soak the potatoes in water you should soak the potatoes in water for 24 hours to remove the starch.
