The foods that diabetics should avoid eating are foods that are high in saturated fats and trans fats as well as refined carbohydrates and foods high in added sugar which includes processed meats, fried foods, refined grains such as rice and white bread and even sugary drinks.

Instead diabetics should eat a healthy balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables as well as lean protein.

Although some fruits should be avoided by diabetics but some fruits are okay for diabetics to eat.

As a diabetic you should avoid sugary foods and drinks which include candy, cookies, cakes, sugary cereals, sweetened cereals, sodas, juice and flavored coffee.

You should also avoid white rice, white bread, pasta and potatoes as well as French fries, fried chicken and other deep fried foods, hot dogs, bacon, deli meats and other processed meats, high fat and dairy products like cheese, yogurt and full fat milk as well as foods high in sodium including salty snacks.

As a diabetic you should also limit alcohol consumption to one drink a day for women and 2 drinks a day for men.

As a diabetic you should focus on eating foods such as non starchy vegetables like broccoli, carrots, leafy greens and other vegetables, certain fruits in moderation, lean protein foods such as lentils, beans, fish and chicken, whole grains like pasta, brown rice and whole wheat bread and skim milk, low fat cheese and low fat yogurt.

Fruits that diabetics should avoid are mango, chikku, grapes, dried fruits and jackfruit which are high in sugar and low in fiber.

Bananas are good for a diabetic to eat and won't spike your blood sugar especially when consumed in moderation.

Bananas also contain fiber and resistant starch that slows down your digestion and release of sugar into the blood sugar which also makes bananas great for diabetes.

You can eat oranges with diabetes but you should only eat oranges in moderation when you have diabetes.

Eating too many oranges with diabetes could spike your blood sugar but eating 1 to 2 oranges a day is generally considered safe to eat when diabetic.

Oranges are also very nutritious and provide you with many health benefits and vitamins.
