Can you use baking powder in place of baking soda?

Yes if you don't have any baking soda and only have baking powder you can use the baking powder in place of the baking soda.

But you just need to triple the amount of baking powder you use so whatever the recipe calls for the amount of baking soda you would triple the amount when using baking soda.

Baking soda also has 4 times the power of baking powder, so 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
