It is safe to eat 10 year old frozen meat as long as the meat has been kept frozen during that time.

Although the 10 year old frozen meat may not taste as fresh or as good as fresh meat it will remain safe to eat for a long time.

When meat is frozen and kept at temperatures of 0 F or below the meat remains safe for a long time.

At 0 F or below 0 F bacteria cannot survive in the freezer so it won't grow on the meat and cause it to spoil.

Although the meat in the freezer remains safe to eat for several years, the meat in the freezer starts to degrade in freshness and quality and can lose it's flavor.

The meat in the freezer may also get freezer burn but it will remain safe to eat.

It's best to eat meat within a year or less of freezing it but the meat is still safe to eat well past that time.

Freezing meat prevents bacteria from growing on the meat and extends it's shelf life.

Frozen meats that are in the freezer longer than a few years are often best in soups and stews, chili etc where you won't usually notice the change in taste or texture.

Even if the meat has been frozen 5 to 10 years or even 15 years it will remain safe to eat as long as it's been kept frozen and has not been thawed out.
