Hash browns are healthy to eat for breakfast in moderation.

However hash browns are not the healthiest breakfast option and should not be an everyday breakfast but on occasion they are okay to eat.

Hash browns are often high in calories and fat even though the potatoes that the hash browns are made of are healthy and contain nutrients including vitamin C.

If the hash browns are made at home by baking or roasting and with the skin left on the potatoes they can be a healthy option.

The best thing to eat for breakfast are eggs, oatmeal, oatmeal with berries, whole wheat toast with avocado, or Greek Yogurt with fruits and nuts.

Protein powder, fruits and leafy greens are also great breakfast food choices as they given you sustained energy and keep you feeling full longer.

Eggs, cottage cheese, nuts, Greek Yogurt, nut butters and lean meats are great breakfast protein sources.

The unhealthiest breakfast is sugary cereal as well as bacon, sausage and other processed meats or pastries which contain added sugars and refined carbohydrates.

Processed meats contain sodium and saturated fats and additives which can contribute to heart disease.

Sugar cereals contain large amounts of added sugar and can cause energy crashes and weight gain.

Other unhealthiest breakfast foods are muffins, toast with butter or margarine, pancakes and waffles, Sweetened non fat yogurt, Toaster Pastries and scones with jam and cream.

Some of the healthiest breakfast foods include.

Whole grain toast.

Cottage Cheese.

Berries.

Chia Seeds.

Oatmeal.

Greek Yogurt.

Eggs.

Coffee and milk and orange juice are some of the healthy drink options when it comes to breakfast drinks.

I think hash browns can be healthy if you make them the right way. I used to grab frozen ones all the time, but they’re often loaded with oil and preservatives. Now, I make them at home with just grated potatoes, a little olive oil, and seasoning. They’re so much better! I even tried adding a sprinkle of nutritional yeast once—sounds weird, but it was good.

One time, I was inspired by a blog on natural foods and started pairing my homemade hash browns with sautéed spinach and a fried egg. It became my go-to breakfast for a while because it felt indulgent but was actually pretty balanced. The key is keeping portions reasonable and not overloading on grease.
