Capicola is not the same as salami.

Salami is often made from beef although salami can also be made from veal, venison, poultry or sometimes pork.

The majority of salami is made from beef.

Capicola is made from pork.

Salami also has a stronger, more peppery flavor than capicola.

And salami is firmer and chewier than capicola.

Capicola is often served thinly sliced and salami is often used as a pizza topping or in sandwiches.

Capicola is also traditionally from Italy and France.

Although capicola is considered a type of salami as it's a salted meat it does differ a lot from normal salami.

Capicola is solely made from pork and like mentioned above salami can be made from other types of meats including veal, venison, poultry or sometimes pork.
