The king of canned pasta is Ettore Hector Boiardi also known as Chef Boyardee who founded the Chef Boyardee company.

During World War II Chef Boyardee was also a key part of soldiers rations.

The U.S. military also commissioned the Boiardi company to produce army rations and the company also became the largest supplier or rations to the U.S. and Allied forces.

The Milton, Pennsylvania Chef Boyardee plant operated 24 hours a day to keep up with the production demands and at it's peak demands the company had employed around 5,000 workers and produced 250,000 cans per day and the family also grew their own mushrooms in the plant.

The ethnicity of Chef Boyardee was Italian American.

Chef Boyardee was Italian American and was born Ettore Boiardi in Placenza, Italy in the year 1897.

Chef Boyardee arrived at Ellis Island in 1914 on the French ship La Lorraine and worked in the kitchens of the Plaza Hotel and the Ritz Carlton in New York City.

Chef Boyardee founded the Chef Boyardee company in the year 1928 with his brothers in Milton Pennsylvania.

Chef Boyardee changed his name from Hector Boiardi because many people had difficulty in pronouncing his Italian surname so he opted for the phonetic spelling which was easier for Americans to say essentially he anglicized his name to make it more marketable.

The main reason for the name change of Hector Boiardi is because customers and salespeople struggled with pronouncing the Boiardi name correctly.
