The main USPS post offices where mail is delivered closes on Sundays and Holidays.
But yes the USPS sorting facilities do stay open on Sundays and even the Holidays.
Mail is always being sorted day in and day out through the weekend and all through the Holidays.
If the USPS sorting facilities shut down on the weekends or Holidays the mail would be delivered later than it does now.
