Maple leaf brand Vienna sausage is recalled due to bulging cans.

All 113-gram cans of maple leaf brand Vienna sausage with a best-before dating leading up to and including Aug. 24, 2025, and bearing a UPC of 0 636191 8, are being recalled due to bulging cans.

The products under recall include Armour Star Chicken and Original Vienna Sausage, Goya Vienna Sausage, Hargis House Potted Meat, Great Value Vienna Sausage and Kroger Vienna Sausages.

Bacteria and fermenting and gases can cause the cans to expand.

As long as the cans are not bulging or the Vienna sausage has not actually gone bad it does not always mean the Vienna sausage is bad when the can is bulging.

The maple leaf Vienna sausages are safe to eat though but if you notice a bulging can you should take it back to the store.
