Yes eating too many chickpeas can cause bloating and give you gas just like beans.
I love chickpeas but can't eat too many of them otherwise I'll feel bloated and have too much gas.
I did however find that if you eat some food with whole grains a little while after eating the chickpeas or even regular beans then I don't get as much gas or bloating when eating the beans or chickpeas so maybe give that a try.
