You can eat sausage that expired 5 days ago as long as it's still actually good and has not actually spoiled.

The expiration date on the sausage does not mean that the sausage has gone bad but it's best to eat it before expiration date.

If the expired sausage smells good and has no mold or slime etc then it is still safe to eat.

Raw sausage is usually good for up to 3 days in the fridge and up to 6 months in the freezer.

Cooked sausage can last up to a week in the fridge but raw sausage only lasts around 3 days in the fridge.

You can tell if sausage has gone bad by the smell and the color and the texture.

Sausage that has gone bad will develop a slimy texture and usually be gray in color and have a very bad smell to it.

If your sausage has a sour smell or an acidic or fish like smell it has gone bad and should be thrown out.

The color that sausage should be when raw is a pinkish color and when cooked it should be a uniform brown color.

If the sausage is turning grey or other colors then it is a sign that the sausage is going bad or has gone bad.

The sausage smells bad then it should be thrown out or if it has become slimy.

It's also normal for fully cooked sausage to have a slight pink hue to it even when it's fully cooked.

The texture of the sausage is one of the best indicators if it is undercooked.

The meat should not feel slimy or soft in your mouth.

If it is, then there is a big chance that the sausage is undercooked.

A perfectly cooked sausage is juicy and firm to bite into.

The healthiest sausage is Kangaroo sausage and extra lean chicken sausage.

The leaner sausages and chicken and Kangaroo sausage has lower calories and salt than other sausages which makes them healthier.

Healthier sausages contain less than 5 g of saturated fat per 100g.

From a nutritional standpoint, chicken sausage is definitely healthier than pork sausage.

Red meat like pork can increase one's likelihood of developing cardiovascular conditions or colon cancer, so the white meat that comprises chicken sausage is a less dangerous option.

Sausages are made with fresh ground chicken meat and other ingredients.

It is then fully cooked, making it ready to eat. Our sausages are best in taste and can be consumed in various ways.

Chicken sausage is healthier than pork sausage just like chicken meat in general is healthier than pork or beef.

The best chicken sausage truly rivals the best pork sausage in terms of snap, juiciness, and flavor and it's generally lower in fat and calories, which is good for people who are keeping an eye on those things.

Hot dogs, sausage, and bacon use the fattiest cuts of red meat, and therefore tend to be high in cholesterol and saturated fat.

Bacon and sausage made with turkey or chicken might seem healthier, and they are somewhat lower in cholesterol than the red meat versions, but they're not cholesterol-free.
