Distilled vinegar is essentially the same thing as white vinegar.

Distilled vinegar and white vinegar are often used interchangeably.

Distilled vinegar is the most precise term for pure, clean vinegar that is made by distilling fermented grain alcohol, which results in a neutral flavor profile that is ideal for cleaning and cooking.

However distilled vinegar is not exactly the same as basic white vinegar.

Basic white vinegar is stronger than distilled vinegar but they are the same vinegar's other than the strength.

The basic white vinegar also has a higher acetic content, which makes the basic white vinegar more potent for cleaning, when compared to distilled vinegar that is often milder and more suitable for cooking.

The extra 1 percent of acid that is in undiluted cleaning vinegar amplifies the vinegar's power and makes it 20 percent stronger than white vinegar.

So, while the cleaning vinegar has a stronger concentration for cleaning, the cleaning vinegar also means you should never consume cleaning vinegar.
