The controversy with Ocean Spray cranberries is due to the false advertising, high sugar content, artificial flavors, misleading labels and preservatives.

The sulfites and Malic acid in Ocean Spray cranberries and ocean spray cranberry products are also controversies.

Ocean Spray had recalled a single production lot of Pink Lite Cranberry Juice Drink due to undeclared sulfites.

And Plaintiffs in a lawsuit claimed that Ocean Spray's products contained malic acid which is a chemical that is not naturally found in cranberries even though the packaging claims they don't contain any artificial flavors.

Plaintiffs also claimed that Ocean Spray's Craisins and Cranberry Bites contained high amounts of added sugar and were falsely labeled as being healthy.

Ocean Spray is so good because of the high concentration of cranberries that are also known to prevent urinary tract infections due to the proanthocyanidins.

Ocean Spray also is a good source of Vitamin C and antioxidants.

Ocean spray cranberry juice is also pretty high in sugar which also adds to the flavor and makes the cranberry juice more addictive to drink.

The 2 most popular Ocean Spray products are the fresh cranberries and cranberry sauce.

Other popular Ocean spray products are Ocean Sprays Zero Cranberry Juice as well as Cranapple.

Ocean Spray Cranapple is Ocean Spray's first juice blend and is a combination of cranberry juice and apple juice.

Craisins, Chocolate dipped cranberry bites, Cran X Dragon Fruit and Zero sugar powdered drink mixes are also very popular Ocean Spray cranberry products.

Zero sugar powdered drink mixes are made with real cranberry juice powder and are available in the flavors such as White Cran X Peach, Cran X Strawberry and Cran X Grape.

Cran X Dragon Fruit is a sought after product from Ocean Spray.

Craisins were invented in response to a price drop in the early 2000s.

Ocean Spray Cranberries Inc. competitors include Tropicana Beverage Group, Dole Food Company, Sunsweet Growers Inc., Minute Maid and Mott's.

Marcus Urann, John Makepeace and Elizabeth Lee worked together to create the Jellied Cranberry Sauce before growers from Wisconsin, Washington, and Oregon quickly joined forces.

And within a decade, Ocean Spray became the first producer of cranberry juice drinks with products sold on store shelves from coast to coast.
