Fresh chicken that is uncooked can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 2 days safely.
After 2 days in the fridge the chicken would be unsafe to eat and should be thrown out.
If you don't plan to cook the uncooked chicken within 2 days then you should freeze the chicken instead.
Frozen chicken lasts longer and can last up to 6 months before going bad.
Cooked chicken is usually okay in the fridge up to a week but any longer than that you should freeze the chicken.
