You can use water instead of milk in recipes that call for milk.

While milk is best to use for the richness of the baked goods the water will work okay as a last resort.

If the recipe only needs a small amount of milk like 60ml than replacing the milk with water should be just fine.

If the recipe calls for more than 60ml of milk then using a milk alternative such as Yogurt or even plant based milks would be better.

Other milk alternatives for baking and cooking include canned coconut milk, evaporated milk, sour cream, soy milk, almond milk, heavy cream or half and half.

Use ½ cup half and half and ½ cup water as a substitute for 1 cup milk.

Oat milk or almond milk are some non-dairy milk alternatives that work similarly to dairy milk in baking and recipes.

If the recipe calls for a small amount of milk like ¼ cup or less, water could work.

And you can substitute milk for water when preparing Super Moist cake mixes, however, the cake may be slightly drier than if prepared with water.

Also keep in mind that milk will add calories and change the nutrition slightly.
