McDonald's does add sugar to their buns as sugar is a common ingredient in bread making that helps give the buns the color, texture and moisture.

Sugar also provides the energy for yeast production and keeps the buns moist and improves the toasted color and texture of the buns.

Less than a teaspoon of sugar is used in each McDonald's buns.

McDonald's burger buns are not vegan because they contain dairy ingredients.

However some McDonald's locations offer a plant based sugar burger option such as the McPlant that comes with a vegan bun.

Chick Fil A buns are also not vegan as they contain honey and dairy.

The Chick Fil A regular buns contain butter and the brioche buns contain honey.

the flaxseed flour flatbread in the grilled cool wrap contains l cysteine.

Some Chick Fil A menu items can be modified to be vegan or vegetarian.

If you want something vegan at Chick Fil A you could order a salad without chicken or cheese, or a cool wrap without cheese or chicken.

You could also order a whole grain tortilla wrap and add some veggies.

However none of the sandwich bread at Chick Fil A is vegan friendly.

Chick Fil A Signature sauce also contains eggs so that is also not vegan.

The chick Fil a fries are vegan though as they're fried in a separate fryer from other foods.
