Yes you can install a second hard drive if you want too in your desktop computer.
The computer will sometimes recognize the second hard drive right off although sometimes you'll have to set the jumpers correctly and/or go into the BIOS settings and tell the computer about the second hard drive if it doesn't recognize it automatically.
