As long as the BBQ sauce was sealed up and it looks good without any mold or anything in it or it doesn't smell bad then yes you can eat the BBQ sauce after the expiration date as I've done many times myself before.
I don't throw things out just because of the expiration date unless it's actually bad since the food costs money.
So just keep the BBQ sauce sealed and even put it in the refrigerator to make the BBQ sauce last longer and you'll be fine.
