Muslims can eat gelatin as long as the gelatin comes from animals that are halal or if the gelatin was synthetically produced.

Other gelatin that is not from halal animals or not synthetically produced is not permitted to be eaten by Muslims.

Most gelatin comes from the bones, skin and muscles of animals that are not halal.

However there are some types of gelatin that are from halal animals or even beef gelatin that Muslims can eat.

Gelatin can also come from plants or fish and Muslims can eat those types of gelatin's.

Muslims can't eat foods that are not Halal.

Foods that are not halal and Muslims can't eat are blood, foods with alcohol, pork, meat from animals that are not slaughtered in the name of Allah.

Foods that are sacrificed to idols, carrion, meat from carnivores and meat from animals that died as a result of illness, injury, stunning or poisoning is forbidden by Islamic dietary laws.

Halal is food which is permitted for consumption by Muslims and means that the food is prepared and sourced according to Islamic dietary laws and haram is the food that is forbidden for Muslims to eat.

Halal food includes fruits, vegetables and certain meats that also includes specific preparation methods and restrictions.

Halal meat comes from animals which are slaughtered according to Islamic law and includes a humane slaughter method in which the animal is killed swiftly by a Muslim person with a sharp knife and blessed with prayer.

Halal diets don't often permit pork products, alcohol or products which contain alcohol or ingredients which use non halal animal derived products.

Halal can eat chocolate but it depends on the ingredients that the chocolate is made of.

And it also depends on the manufacturing process of the chocolate on whether or not ea halal can eat chocolate.

As long as the chocolate is free of non halal ingredients like pork derived gelatin, alcohol or additives that come from non halal sources then the halal can eat the chocolate.

Halal ingredients in chocolate that halal can eat include cocoa, sugar and milk in milk chocolate.

If the chocolate contains gelatin that is derived from pork or a non halal source then it's not halal or if it contains emulsifiers it's not halal.

Also some flavoring extracts in chocolate may contain alcohol which is prohibited in halal foods.

Knox gelatin is also not halal and does not carry a halal or Kosher symptom as it contains pork or from animals that were not butchered in the Kosher or Halal approved way.
