A griddle is better than a pan for foods that need high heat and fast cooking and a frying pan is better for foods that need a slow cooking process and slow heat.

The difference between a griddle and a skillet is a griddle is a flat cooking surface and a skillet is a pan that has raised edges and a handle to keep foods from falling out.

Most things that can be cooked in a skillet can also be cooked on a griddle and most things that are cooked on a griddle can be cooked in a skillet.

A griddle is good for cooking foods such as eggs, french toast, grilled cheese sandwiches, home fries, pancakes, sausages, hamburgers, hot dogs and bacon.

A griddle is a large flat cooking surface that has a smooth surface.

Griddles can be electric or even just a griddle made of cast iron that you place on a stove.

A griddle has a smooth and flat surface, perfect for cooking breakfast foods like bacon, sausages, pancakes, home fries, french toast, and eggs.

You can also use a griddle to make grilled cheese sandwiches, quesadillas, and anything else that you would usually cook on a frying pan.

The biggest difference between an outdoor grill and a griddle is the cooking surface.

Unlike a grill's grate which leaves food often exposed to direct flame, a griddle is a smooth, flat surface that food is cooked on, like a giant pan or skillet.

The reason for food tasting better on a griddle is because the food is in direct contact with the metal surface which results in crispy, golden brown layers on the food and it also gives the food a consistent, sauteed or pan seared taste.

Griddle cooking is also healthier as the food is not in contact directly with flames like it would be on a grill.

To keep food from sticking to the griddle make sure to season the griddle properly and use as little oil to season the griddle as possible.

Use a high smoke point oil such as Flaxseed oil and allow the griddle to get hot before cooking the food.

Also always clean the griddle after each use and avoid use of any harsh chemical cleaners when cleaning the griddle.

The liquid you use on a griddle is vegetable oil such as Flaxseed oil or Canola oil which are best for cooking on a griddle.

These oils have a high smoke point and neutral flavor that makes it ideal for cooking a wide range of foods on a griddle.

The best oil to use on a griddle is Flaxseed oil or other high heat oil.

However you can use any oil you want to use on a griddle such as vegetable shortening, canola oil, coconut oil and even EVOO oil.

You do put oil on a griddle as oil is essential for cooking food on a griddle and for helping prevent the food from sticking to the griddle.

Without the oil on the griddle the food won't cook properly and will burn instead.

If your griddle tastes weird or the food on your griddle tastes weird it can be due to using too much or or burning oil or even the griddle needing cleaned.

Food that is cooked on a griddle will mostly have a sautéed or pan-seared taste.

Also, griddles provide a wide cooking area that comes into contact with whatever you are cooking.

As such, food prepared using a griddle will have a crispy layer on the outside.

The hole in the griddle is for allowing the oil and grease to drip away.

The reason you squirt water on a griddle is because it helps loosen stuck food and cleans off the griddle as it cools down the griddle.

A squirt of water on the griddle is also a good way to steam veggies on the griddle.

When you scrape your griddle you scrape the griddle hot.

Do not let the grease and food particles cook and bake onto the metal surface of the griddle.

The heat of the griddle makes the cleaning process of the griddle easier.

While the griddle is still hot use a flat metal spatula to scrape off any excess food or debris.

To wash your griddle pour hot water or water with a drop of dish soap over your griddle surface and then place a folded up paper towel on the griddle surface and then set a flat metal spatula onto the towel and scrub back and forth to remove the dirty water and debris of the griddle.

A griddle will rust if it's not properly seasoned.

As long as you make sure the griddle is properly seasoned then it should not rust.

You should not spray Pam on a griddle as Pam contains additional chemicals that could damage the griddles cooking surface.

However if you do use Pam on the griddle be sure to wipe it off and wash the griddles surface soon after cooking on the griddle.

It's best to use butter or vegetable or other cooking oil when cooking on your griddle.

When cooking on a griddle you're not really grilling by frying foods like you would on a skillet.

Griddles transfer the heat from the entire metal surface to the food, cooking and browning evenly.

The heat source or flames never touch the food.

Grilling on the other hand uses higher temperatures than griddle cooking.

The heat transfers from the fire directly, and through the metal of the grill grate.

A griddle can replace a grill as most of the foods you cook on a grill can also be cooked on a griddle.

Grilling hamburgers, hot dogs, sausages, steaks etc can all be done on a griddle.

However cooking eggs and making pancakes on a grill cannot be done unless you use aluminum or Tin foil but it's easy to cook those things on a griddle.

The difference between a flat grill and a griddle is the cooking surface as a griddle has a smooth flat metal cooking surface that is heated from underneath and the heat then spreads out across the entire cooktop.

A grill has a series of slated grates that spread about 1/2 inch apart over a heat source.

The foods you're supposed to cook on a griddle pancakes, hamburgers, sausages, bacon, hash browns, French Toast, eggs, fajitas, grilled sandwiches, chicken and fish.

Grills are healthier than a griddle when it comes to cooking.

Grills are a bit healthier than griddles because the grills have grates through which excess oils and fats drip off the food as it cooks.

Unlike a griddle, food cooked on a grill directly contact the fire flames.

People like griddles because griddles provide consistent heat for cooking across a large, flat cooking surface which makes them best for cooking foods that you just would not be able to cook on a traditional BBQ grill.

Griddles are also very easy to use and come with a lot of efficiency and convenience, making them a top choice for easy outdoor cooking.

Griddles also offer grillers a flat and smooth cooking surface with varying temperature zones and excellent temperature control.

Griddles are excellent cooking surfaces, loved for their versatility, wide cooktop, ease of cleaning, and durability.

They give your meat a perfect sear and add flavor to your food.

Griddles and grills use different cooking techniques, resulting in different tastes and appearances of the food.

They also differ in how heat contacts the food cooking upon them.

When you fire up the grill and toss food onto the red-hot grids, the Maillard Reaction occurs.

The browning of whatever you're cooking smells divine, activating the saliva ducts in your mouth, which will facilitate the transference of the chemicals that activate your taste buds.

The cons of a griddle include.

Cleaning and Maintenance. Griddles require more cleaning and maintenance than grills.
Temperature Control. You might think that a griddle would have better temperature control than a grill, but that isn't the case.
Cooking Time.
Greasy Food.
Smoke and Fumes.

Grills are a bit healthier than griddles because they have grates through which excess oils and fats drip off the food as it cooks.

Unlike a griddle, food cooked on a grill directly contact the fire flames.
