Canned tuna is actually tuna and most of the canned tuna in grocery stores comes from the Pacific Ocean.

The canned tuna is real tuna.

Canned tuna is healthy although because it's a processed food it can be unhealthy when consumed in excess.

Fresh tuna is healthier than canned tuna but even canned tuna is healthy.

The canned tuna and tuna is a healthful food that is rich in protein and contains many vitamins and minerals such as B-Complex vitamins, Vitamins A and D as well as iron, selenium and phosphorus.

Tuna lasts so long in a can because the tuna is cooked during the canning process and the fact that the can is sealed also keeps bacteria out of the tuna which prevents spoilage.

Once you open the can of tuna then it must be refrigerated to prevent spoilage as the bacteria can then get into the tuna.

But as long as the tuna can remains sealed bacteria cannot reach the tuna so it does not spoil in the can.

Canned tuna lasts for around 5 to 10 years although it's best to eat the canned tuna within 2 to 5 years for best taste and quality although it remains safe past that date.

Meat in a can lasts because of the meat being sterilized, cooked and then sealed in an airtight can which prevents bacteria and air from reaching the meat.

Without the air and the bacteria the meat cannot spoil.
