To cook ham ahead of time cook the ham as normal and then after the ham has cooled cover the cooked ham in parchment paper and then also wrap the ham entirely with foil.

Then place the cooked and wrapped ham into the fridge until you're ready to serve it.

You can then reheat the cooked ham in the oven at 160 F for 30 minutes to an hour.

Cooked ham will last out of the fridge for up to 2 hours before it starts to grow bacteria.

Cooked ham can be left out at room temperature for up to 2 hours.

If not eating or serving the cooked ham within 2 hours it should be kept in the refrigerator and any leftover cooked ham that has been left out longer than 2 hours should not be eaten as it could make you sick.

You can refreeze the cooked ham twice before it loses it's flavor and has a change in texture and appearance.

While you can refreeze the cooked ham more than twice it's not recommended as it won't taste as good.

The best way to cook a fully cooked ham is to put it in a roasting pan and heat it in the oven.

To heat the sliced ham in the oven.

Preheat oven to 325 F. Wrap ham in foil and place, cut side down, in a pan with a roasting rack.

Place pan in oven and cook (allow about 10 to 14 minutes per pound of meat.).

When digital meat thermometer, inserted in thickest part of ham, registers 100 to 110 F, remove ham from oven and unwrap.

Eggs are great to serve with ham.

Ham and Eggs or Ham and bacon are good.

Ham and Toast.

Ham and pancakes.

Ham and mashed potatoes are also great.

Other good side dishes to serve along with ham are.

Scalloped Potatoes.
Sweet Potato Casserole.
Green Bean Casserole.
Roasted Asparagus.
Spaghetti Squash.
Honey Glazed Carrots.
Dinner Rolls.

Good foods that go good with mashed potatoes are.

Bread, Chicken, Catfish, Beef Wellington, Steak, Meatloaf, Meatballs, Chicken Gordon Bleu.

Other foods that go well with mashed potatoes are potato croquettes, Salisbury Steak, Fried Chicken and Gravy, Steak and pan sauce.

Roast Chicken.

Potato Pierogi.

Fish Pie.

Grilled steaks
Sausages (grilled or boiled)
Ground lamb (as part of a Shepherd’s Pie)
Chicken in some sort of sauce (Chicken a la King, Chicken Francese, etc.)
Stews of any kind of meat (beef, pork, chicken, etc.)
Fish filets (usually in a Beurre Blanc sauce)

You can also top the mashed potatoes with some gravy and hamburger.

Or even top the mashed potatoes and gravy with some nacho cheese.

You could also dip nacho chips into the nacho cheese and gravy mashed potatoes.
