To melt Nutella you can place it in a pan or even in a microwave safe dish.

Then microwave the Nutella for aorund 20 seconds or so at a time until it's melted.

Or use the stove on low heat and melt it in the pan and stir the Nutella as you melt it.

It is safe to microwave Nutella but you should put the Nutella in a microwave safe container before microwaving it as the Nutella container is not safe for the microwave.

Nutella has gone hard as it naturally degrades in quality over time.

Also when it's exposed to air the moisture gets out of the Nutella which also causes it to get hard.

The hard Nutella is still safe to eat but is not as good as it once was.

You can freeze Nutella for up to 6 months.

The best way to freeze Nutella is in the jar it came in and it will then freeze solid and remain safe to eat for up to 6 months.

White Nutella is basically white choc hazelnut spread.

Nutella, the decadent coco-hazelnut spread of the gods, is both addictive and delicious.

There appears to be two different varieties of the spread -- Italian Nutella and American Nutella.

What is the difference between European Nutella and American Nutella?

The sole difference is that the Italian version lists two percentages: hazelnuts (13%) and milk (5%) while the American version keeps mum.

The website for American Nutella says, "Each 13 oz. jar contains more than 50 hazelnuts." If I had to guess, I'd say Italian Nutella uses a few more nuts than that.

Expired Nutella is safe to eat.

The expired Nutella won't harm you but it's not as tasty as fresh Nutella but other than the taste possibly changing and the texture the Nutella is safe to consume after expiration

Eating expired Nutella is not recommended especially by the company who makes Nutella but I personally have eaten expired Nutella without any health problems or getting sick.

The expired Nutella doesn't taste as fresh as eating it when it is fresh or before the use by date but it's still okay to eat.

I keep some Nutella around and sometimes forget about it and then when I do find it weeks past the expiration date I decide to go ahead and eat it.
