You do eat Calamari with a fork and also be sure to chew each piece of the Calamari or squid completely for full enjoyment of it.

You can eat calamari raw as long as it's been properly prepared and is fresh.

Calamari is often served raw in sashimi and sushi and can be cut into rings and battered and deep fried as well.

You can also grill Calamari and season it with some saffron, sesame oil, onions, garlic and pepper.

Canned calamari can be eaten straight from the can or added to other dishes or heat the canned calamari up.

You can eat calamari from a can.

You can either eat the calamari straight from the can or you can heat it up if you prefer.

Canned calamari is ready to eat but some people prefer to heat it up before eating it as it tastes better that way.

The sauce that goes well with calamari is Remoulade Sauce.

Remoulade Sauce goes well with Calamari and other seafood.

Side dishes that go well with fried Calamari or Calamari are.

Creamy potato salad. The creaminess of a good potato salad works really well with calamari, making it a really strong contender for a side dish.
Tomato and onion salad.
Steamed rice.
Nutty noodle salad.
Creamy risotto.
Tartar sauce.
Homemade rainbow coleslaw.
Hawaiian salad.

Calamari can be bad for cholesterol especially when you fry the Calamari due to the total fat and saturated fat increasing.

Non fried Calamari is better for cholesterol.

Calamari should not be too pink but slightly pink in color for Calamari is okay.

It's normal for some calamari to be slightly pink in color.

However if your calamari has really brighter pink in color then it could be bad and should not be eaten.

When calamari turns more pink it means the calamari is going bad and if it's slightly pink the calamari is safe to eat but overly pink it's likely bad.

Thawed or fresh calamari should be mostly ivory colored and moist and shiny.

Yellow or purple or pink flesh indicates deterioration of the calamari.

If in doubt just throw the calamari out to avoid getting sick.

Although if the calamari has been frozen and it's not too pink it could be okay to eat.

If I'm ever in doubt about some food being bad I just throw it out and don't eat it because it's not worth getting sick over.
