It is safe to eat expired condiments as long as they have not spoiled.

The expiration date on condiments does not mean they are actually bad or spoiled but instead the expiration dates on condiments simply means that they are not as fresh and may not taste as good.

If the condiments smell good and have no bad odor to them then they are safe to eat.

Condiments that do not need to be refrigerated are vinegar, mustard, ketchup, hot sauce and mayonnaise.

Most condiments last for 1 to 2 months after opening but it depends on what type of condiment as to how long they will last.

Some condiments can last 3 to 4 months and some condiments can last 6 months after opening.

Ketchup and chili sauce and cocktail sauce lasts around 6 months after opening, chutney can last 2 months after opening, horseradish can last up to 4 months after opening.

Condiments like hot sauce and Sriracha can remain good for a year or more after you open them.

Certain condiments, like salad dressing and mayonnaise, need to be refrigerated after they're opened to maximize their shelf life.

Hot sauce: 9 to 12 months; 6 months in the pantry after opening, although refrigeration will better retain heat.

Jams, jellies and preserves: 6 to 18 months; 6 to 12 months.

Jarred pesto: 6 to 9 months; 7 days.

Jarred spaghetti sauce: 18 months; 4 days.

Common condiments that don't require refrigeration include soy sauce, oyster sauce, fish sauce, honey and hot sauce.

Vinegars and olive oil (stored in a cool, dark place) are pantry-bound; coconut oil is actually best kept out of the fridge since it hardens below room temperature.

Ketchup and most other condiments don't need refrigeration and can be kept at room temperature even after opening.

Hot sauce that is store bought can also be left out at room temperature but homemade hot sauce must be refrigerated to prevent spoilage.

If it's a jar of hot sauce then a jar of hot sauce such as salsa needs to be refrigerated after opening or it can and will go bad.

A condiment is a preparation that is added to food, typically after cooking, to impart a specific flavor, to enhance the flavor, or to complement the dish.

A table condiment or table sauce is more specifically a condiment that is served separately from the food and is added to taste by the diner.

A condiment adds flavor to food.

Ketchup and mustard are popular condiments.

Most people use condiments when they eat.

There are lots of salad dressings, and they're all condiments.

If you put relish on a hot dog, that's a condiment too.
