CNCS is legitimate but there have been some scammers using CNCS name to scam people.

Established in 1993, the Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS) is a Federal agency that engages more than 5 million Americans in service through its core programs -- Senior Corps, AmeriCorps, and the Social Innovation Fund -- and leads President Obama's national call to service initiative.

CNCS programs are funded through FY2019 under the Department of Defense and Labor, Health and Human Services, and Education Appropriations Act, 2019 and Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2019 (P.L. 115-245).

AmeriCorps is the federal agency connecting individuals and organizations to tackle the nation's most pressing challenges.

AmeriCorps issued an alert to inform the public of a fraudulent scam using the AmeriCorps and Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS)[1] names and the names of its programs

AmeriCorps is an independent agency of the United States government that engages more than five million Americans in service through AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps NCCC, AmeriCorps State and National, AmeriCorps Seniors, the Volunteer Generation Fund, and other national service initiatives.

AmeriCorps is a network of local, state, and national service programs that connects over 70,000 Americans each year in intensive service to meet community needs in education, the environment, public safety, health, and homeland security.
