Ham is pink because of the curing process as ham you buy in stores is cured and fully ready to eat.

You can heat the ham up but store bought ham does not require any cooking.

The pink color of ham is a result of chemical reactions between sodium nitrite and myoglobin during the ham curing process.

Ham is made of pig.

Ham is actually from the rear and the rear leg of a pig.
