Chipotle Salsa does need to be refrigerated.

If not eating or serving the Chipotle Salsa or any other fresh Salsa within 2 hours it should be refrigerated.

Chipotle Salsa or any other Fresh Salsa including homemade Salsas needs to be refrigerated within 2 hours.

Even store bought jars of Salsa needs to be refrigerated once opened.

Always keep your fresh salsa in the refrigerator until the last possible minute before serving.

Once you pull it out of the refrigerator, it can safely stay out for up to 2 hours.

Salsa that was sold unrefrigerated will keep for about 1 month in the fridge after opening, assuming continuous refrigeration.

To further extend the shelf life of opened salsa, freeze it: to freeze salsa, place inside covered airtight containers or heavy-duty freezer bags.

For commercially bottled salsa that's sold in the refrigerated aisle, the storage guidelines are even more straightforward.

You should always keep it in the fridge.

Fresh, store-bought and restaurant-made salsas can only sit out for up to two hours at room temperature and one hour when temperatures rise above 90 degrees F.

If you would like to elongate this time frame, put your bowl of salsa on ice and keep it out of direct sunlight.

The majority of chipotle bowls can be refrigerated for up to four or five days.

But to get the best results for reheating and eating later, the best thing to do is separate it into its different elements before putting them into the fridge.
