A good way to check to see if eggs are bad is to use a bowl of water to do the float test.

Bad eggs will float and good eggs will sink to the bottom of the water.

Simply fill a bowl with cold tap water and place your eggs in it.

If they sink to the bottom and lay flat on one side, they are fresh and good to eat.

A bad egg will float because of the large air cell that forms at its base.

Any floating eggs should be thrown out.

You can eat eggs 3 months old as long as they have been kept refrigerated and as long as they are actually still good.

Some eggs that are 3 months old are okay to eat while others may actually be bad.

Most eggs are good for around 5 weeks past the expiration date as long as they have been refrigerated.

The reason you should not wash eggs before storing them is because bacterial can grow on the washed eggs unless they are dried.

Never soak eggs, even in warm water.

Washed eggs must be thoroughly dried before storage — storing wet eggs encourages the growth and transfer of bacteria on eggshells to the egg's interior.

Eating eggs everyday is okay as long as you don't have high cholesterol.

Eating too many eggs or eggs everyday with high cholesterol could increase your cholesterol levels.

However if you're overall healthy then eating a few eggs everyday is perfectly fine.

You can eat leftover eggs as long as the leftover eggs have been refrigerated and not left out longer than a few hours.

if the eggs have been left out longer than a few hours then they could contain bacteria and should be discarded.

However if the leftover eggs have been only left out for a few hours then they are safe to eat.

If the leftover eggs have been refrigerated then they also are safe to eat.

As long as the leftover eggs have no mold or bad smell to them they are okay to eat.

Cooked eggs and egg dishes can be safely consumed as leftovers if they're initially cooked thoroughly, stored properly, and reheated to an adequate temperature to kill germs and prevent foodborne illness.

Different reheating methods work best for certain types of cooked eggs and egg dishes.

Refrigerated scrambled eggs are safe to eat for up to four days after cooking, but after that you should toss them out.

Also, make sure your leftover scrambled eggs are in the body of the fridge, not in the door shelves, as this may cause them to spoil faster.

You can safely reheat egg dishes in the microwave when it is time to serve.

The exception is boiled eggs, if you reheat boiled eggs in the microwave there is a high risk of the egg exploding if you don't use a hot water bath.
