Things that will get you fired include.

Not Doing Your work.

Being late to work too often.

Poor Work Performance.
Misconduct.
Chronic Lateness/ Absence.
Company Policy Violations.
Drug or Alcohol Use at Work.
Personal Use of Company Property.
Theft or Property Damage.
Falsifying Company Records.

Things you should never say to your boss are.

“I Need a Raise.”
“I Can't Stand Working With ____.”
“It's Not My Fault.”
“But We've Always Done It This Way.”
“That's Not Part of My Job.”
“That's Above My Pay Grade.”
“I Have Too Much on My Plate.”
“I'm Bored.”

It's not really OK to talk back to your boss.

Talking back to your boss could get you fired so if you want your Job then you should avoid talking back to your boss.

An employer can bad mouth you.

Legally an employer can bad mouth you unless they are saying things about that really are not true.

You can sue your employer for stress and anxiety if the stress and anxiety is higher than what would be normal for the job.

You can't sue for anxiety or stress simply because the job is stressful and causes some anxiety as lots of jobs can be stressful and cause anxiety.

You can file an employment lawsuit if you experience stress and anxiety that is higher than the regular amount for your job.

For example, the minor stress of answering emails in a timely and comprehensive manner is normal and expected.

One of the most common ways to tell that your boss is trying to get rid of you is your boss starts giving most of your work to another employee.

Whenever your boss starts giving away tasks that you always do—or that they know you enjoy—without some type of explanation, they're communicating that they either don't value you or don't trust you to do it anymore.

Other signs that your boss is trying to get rid of you include.

You don't get new, different or challenging assignments anymore.
You don't receive support for your professional growth.
Your boss avoids you.
Your daily tasks are micromanaged.
You're excluded from meetings and conversations.
Your benefits or job title changed.

A boss can talk bad about you to other employees.

For example if the boss just doesn't like you and they talk bad about you to other employees and tell them things that are actually true then they can do so.

But if the boss starts talking bad about you to other employees and tells them lies that can affect you then it can become illegal and a lawsuit could ensue due to defamation in the workplace.

Employment defamation, or workplace defamation, is a legal issue which involves false statements about an employee that harm that employee's ability to maintain their current job, or seek a new position.

This applies if another person, such as a coworker, makes the defamatory statements.

Most bosses are jerks because they need to relieve stress and they like to take the stress out on their employees.

So they use you as a stress reliever by yelling at you.

Although in some cases a boss may just be a jerk for no other reason.

Some signs of a bad boss include.

Not appreciative of employee feedback.
Having a lack of clarity.
Publicly criticizing employees.

Excluding team members from meetings.
Unhappy employees.
Constantly micromanaging.
Bad task dissemination.
Not respecting time off.

Your boss can legally yell at you or chew you out in front of other employees.

Legally the boss can yell at you for any reason they want too.

However if the boss is constantly yelling at you and you're doing your work like you're supposed to and it does not stop then the best thing to do is to wait it out and begin looking for another job.

Then when you find another job you can then quit that job and yell right back at them.

Although you need the job I would when possible get out of a job where a boss was always yelling at me and not treating me right.

Legally speaking though bosses, supervisors and managers are allowed to yell at employees.

However, when that yelling is about or against a protected class, the yelling may qualify as harassment.

This doesn't mean a boss, manager or supervisor is never allowed to get angry or frustrated, no one is perfect.
