Fish that cannot be eaten raw or at least should not be eaten raw include Blue marlin, mackerel, sea bass, swordfish, tuna and yellowtail.

Blue marlin, mackerel, sea bass, swordfish, tuna and yellowtail are high in mercury, so limit your consumption of these high-mercury raw fish, since mercury in high amounts can affect your nervous system function.

Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil and Safflower Oil are the healthiest cooking oils to fry fish in.

Fish becomes chewy or rubbery when the fish has been overcooked.

Also some types of fish are not really good for frying and then baking the type of fish must be done to prevent chewy fish.

However make sure first you're not overcooking the fish as that is the most common reason fish becomes rubbery or chewy.

When fish is fully cooked the fish will flake and the color of the fish will change and lose it's translucent and raw appearance.

The best way to tell if your fish is done is by testing it with a fork at an angle, at the thickest point, and twist gently.

The fish will flake easily when it's done and it will lose its translucent or raw appearance.

A good rule of thumb is to cook the fish to an internal temperature of 140-145 degrees.

Cooked fish can make you sick especially if it's not fully cooked or if it contains any bacteria that hasn't been killed in the fish when cooking it.

Also some people are allergic to fish and can get sick so if you're allergic to fish you should not eat it.

Some fish can also be eaten raw although it's not recommended.

We can eat fish raw because the bacteria that fish may contain is less harmful to humans that bacteria that can be present in other meats from land animals.

land animals are more prone to infections and bacteria in their meat and intestines which can then make us humans sick if we eat them.

However fish are less likely and less prone to bacteria and infections that could infect and harm us humans.

So the fish is safe to eat raw.

We mainly cook meat to kill bacteria in the meat.

However while most raw fish is safe to eat it is still possible to get parasites and health issues from eating raw fish.

So it's always best to cook raw fish before eating it.

For most healthy people who choose to eat raw or undercooked seafood, it may only pose a small health risk but for others the risk can be severe.

Major types of food poisoning that can result from eating raw or undercooked fish and shellfish include Salmonella and Vibrio vulnificus.

Here are a few common types of fish eaten raw: seabass, swordfish, salmon, trout, mackerel, tuna and salmon.

Other types of seafood, like shrimp, crab, scallops, eel and octopus are also widely and safely eaten raw.

Blue marlin, mackerel, sea bass, swordfish, tuna and yellowtail are high in mercury, so limit your consumption of these high-mercury raw fish, since mercury in high amounts can affect your nervous system function.
