If you think you may have a bench warrant or warrant for your arrest then you can find out by calling the courthouse or looking online at warrant lists or looking up your name on the county court or Sheriffs Records.

If you do have a bench warrant then it's best to show up to the jail and turn yourself in as it will make it easier on you instead of waiting for the police to arrest you.

You can usually get a bail amount to get out of jail after you've been taken into custody for the bench warrant.

A bench warrant is a legal document issued by a judge that authorizes a person's arrest.

It is called a “bench” warrant because it is issued by the judge while sitting “on the bench” in the courtroom.

A bench warrant generally is assigned a bond amount when it is issued.

The bench is a warrant to arrest and detain a person who has either failed to appear in court or failed to obey a court order.

In California, a person can clear a bench warrant by either: possibly having the party's attorney appear in court on his behalf.

What is the difference between a bench warrant and an arrest warrant?

An arrest warrant is a warrant issued by a judge at the request of the prosecutor and law enforcement whereas a bench warrant is usually initiated by a judge.

You can get the arrest warrant cleared by going to the criminal counter at the courthouse (in person) and telling the court staff that you want to make a “voluntary appearance” to clear your arrest warrant.

If the warrant can be cleared right away, the court staff will give you a “Notice of bail”.
