To be able to prove burglary or convict someone of burglary the prosecutor has to prove that the defendant entered a building or structure without permission with the intent commit a crime inside.

Fingerprints or video of the person can be enough to convict the person of burglary or if enough people have seen or witnessed the burglary that can sometimes be enough to prove someone committed the burglary.

Cameras are everywhere now and most homes have cameras that can show who the person is that broke into a home or building.

In law the crime of burglary is illegal entry into a building illegally with intent to commit a crime, especially theft.

Burglary can be residential burglary or non residential burglary.

If someone burglarizes your home while you're in the home you should try to get yourself and any family members out of the house and then call 911 for help.

If someone burglarizes your home while you're gone and you return home you should call 911 and do not enter the home even if you think the burglar is gone.

Wait until the police have gone through your house and cleared the house for safety and then you can enter the home.

You cannot simply stab someone for breaking into your home unless the person is trying to actually harm you.

When someone breaks into your home when you're inside the house you should try to get outside to safety and then call 911.

But if someone is trying to actually harm you then you can stab them or shoot them for your protection or your families protection.

But your first option should be to get yourself and family away from the danger if possible.
